An old legend offers an answer. It tells of five ancient gods who shaped the spirit of Winterthur. Together, they are said to have inspired generations of inventors, artists, engineers and pioneers.

At the Casino Theatre is a shrine to the Goddess of Art. The image of the God of Nightlife can be found in the Old Town. At Winterthur railway station, a device from the city measures supernatural energy.
